WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A Senior Data Engineer (“SDE”) is responsible for overseeing and leading the implementation and automation of all of Tresata’s intelligence software through the entire data analytics lifecycle, from development to production deployment for our clients, globally.

As a Tresata SDE, you will lead Client implementations and be responsible for leading one or more Data Engineering teams. Each team uses Tresata software stack to build automated batch/ real-time ELT pipelines to clean, transform, enrich, and curate raw data into usable Data Assets & Products that yield actionable intelligence. Our DE teams develop and launch massively parallel and scalable software applications using cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes inside the cloud i.e. Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, etc.

Success in this role requires the ability to think critically and operate in an Agile manner, using Scrum. You will develop and oversee enterprise-grade software applications to solve complex, sometimes unprecedented, problems using Tresata’s intelligence software. You will be expected to utilize and adhere to industry standard software development practices and leverage versioning tools like Github, BitBucket, and GitLab. An SDE must possess a keen eye for detail and experience in effectively documenting, communicating, and presenting technical materials to various audiences, including stake-holders and C-Suite executives.

Requirements

WHAT SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE YOU NEED TO BRING

1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred).
2. 3+ years of demonstrated software development or data engineering experience.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Strong familiarity with distributed file systems like AWS, GCP, & MS Azure.
5. Strong proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, or Python.
6. Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
7. Trained for & exhibited skills around implementing large scale software implementations.
8. 1+ years of demonstrated experience managing and leading other data engineers, ensuring data engineering best practices are being followed is preferred.
9. Desire to develop skills in leading and managing while contributing individually.
10. Willingness to work hard, oftentimes across time-zones, with a global team.
