NET 1.0 is a New Analytics Application that Implements Advanced Machine Learning Techniques Enabling Dynamic, Visual and Real Time Discovery and Exploration of Complex Relationships Across Massive Datasets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (February 11, 2014) –  Tresata, the leading provider of next generation advanced analytics applications completely powered by Hadoop, today announced the general availability of NET 1.0, one of the first commercial big data applications built on the Apache Spark framework. With this, Tresata fulfills its promise to bring real time functionality and power to its suite of next generation predictive analytics software that is rapidly automating the discovery of knowledge.

NET 1.0, an insight discovery and exploration application, unearths emerging trends from massive amounts of structured and unstructured data in real time. Early business users love its compelling and easy to use visual interface that allows them to find and inspect rapidly forming networks resident in their data. NET 1.0 has already been applied to quickly and accurately detect fraud, mine security attacks and monitor capital flows that indicate suspicious, fraudulent and threatening velocities.

By leveraging Apache Spark, first developed in the AMPLab at UC Berkeley, NET 1.0 is able to process big data as much as 100 times faster than traditional MapReduce thanks to Spark’s in-memory execution engine. With the launch of Databricks, spun out of the AMPLab to commercialize Spark, the pace of innovation for in-memory capabilities in Hadoop should increase dramatically. “Tresata is a pioneer among a rapidly growing group of application vendors that are leveraging the speed and ‘end-to-end’ nature of Spark to help enterprises unlock the value of their Hadoop data,” stated Arsalan Tavakoli, Business Development Lead at Databricks.

“We have always believed the Hadoop ecosystem will offer a complete set of capabilities to be an all-encompassing data analytics platform,” said Koert Kuipers, Chief Technology Officer at Tresata. “By incorporating the in-memory capabilities of the Spark framework into our predictive machine learning algorithms, we have now brought to market real time analytics applications completely built in Hadoop, delivering unmatched accuracy, speed and scalability.”

NET 1.0 is best implemented in concert with TREE and ORION, Tresata’s industry leading big data applications that help companies understand customer behavior and monetize the resultant insights. With NET 1.0, Tresata has defined a new standard for analytics applications completely built in Hadoop, proving that real time big data analytics can be successfully delivered on what is fast becoming the analytics platform for the future.

About Tresata

Tresata is building next generation predictive analytics software that automates the discovery of knowledge. This software allows enterprises to use all their data to get, grow and keep their customers and runs completely on Apache Hadoop, the leading open source data analytics platform. Tresata is widely recognized as the leader in the rapidly emerging Big Data sector offering software that helps monetize big data.

About Databricks

Databricks was founded by the creators of Apache Spark, who have been working for the past six years on cutting-edge systems to analyze and process Big Data. They believe that Big Data is a tremendous opportunity that is still largely untapped, and are actively working to revolutionize what enterprises can do with it.
